1989 Hellinger Award Winner- Mike Vaccaro

Michael Vaccaro Jr. was presented with the Mark Hellinger Award in 1989. Hailing from Fort Pierce, Florida, Vaccaro was a dean's list student who manned a number of editorial capacities for The Bona Venture, including one year as editor-in-chief. He was campus president of St. Bonaventure's Sigma Delta Chi chapter and was a member of Kappa Tau Alpha. He was a newsroom intern for the Olean Times Herald prior to winning the award.
